What we’re actually selling

The job is the work. The relationship is the result.

Anyone can put a roof on a house. What you’re really deciding is who you’re going to let into your home, whose word you’re going to rely on when something unexpected turns up behind a wall, and who’s going to pick up the phone next year.

Selbor is a family company. That isn’t a marketing detail — it’s the reason we care what our name means after the last invoice is paid.

Our standard: If this homeowner were my friend, how would I handle this?

That is the question every person representing Selbor is expected to ask when they aren’t sure what to do. Then act accordingly.

We walk it with you before anyone quotes a number.
A carpenter running a bead of caulk along newly installed baseboard trim
The parts nobody photographs are the parts that fail first.
Tools packed and the floor swept at the end of a workday
Swept and packed at the end of every day, not at the end of the job.

What we do

Three service lines. One standard.

The part most companies skip

Drying the house out is half the job.

Here’s how water damage usually goes. An emergency crew arrives fast, extracts the water, sets the fans, takes their equipment back — and leaves. You’re standing in a house with the drywall cut out to eighteen inches, an insurance file half-open, and a second search ahead of you to find somebody to put it all back.

That handoff is where homeowners get lost. Two companies, two estimates, two versions of what the insurance company said, and nobody who owns the outcome.

We do both halves. Mitigation and reconstruction, one company, one accountability chain. If something was missed during dry-out, it’s still our problem at paint.

Our standard: The job isn’t finished when the house is dry. It’s finished when it’s a home again.

A $100 repair gets the same phone call as a $500,000 renovation.

We don’t qualify people by the size of their project. If it matters enough for you to call, it matters enough for us to answer properly.

Plenty of companies won’t quote small work. That’s a business decision they’re entitled to make. Ours is different: today’s small repair is how somebody decides whether to trust us with something bigger — and more to the point, a person with a small problem is still a person with a problem.

How we operate

Six things we hold ourselves to.

Tell the truth.Including when it’s expensive, inconvenient, or our fault.
Communicate. When it gets difficult, we communicate more — not less.
Own the problem.Don’t hide it. Don’t blame it. Don’t put a Band-Aid on it.
Do it right.Would I accept this work in my own home?
Take care of people.Customers, employees, subcontractors. All of them.
Build the relationship. The project ends. The relationship doesn’t have to.

Straight answers

The things contractors don’t usually put in writing.

What your insurer actually owes you after a hail storm. What a roof really costs in North Texas. How to tell an honest contractor from a good salesman.

A homeowner standing with a coffee mug at the island of her newly remodeled kitchen
The point of the work is that you stop thinking about it.

Tell us what’s going on with your house.

No pressure, no sales process. Tell us what’s happening and we’ll tell you what we think — including when the answer is that you don’t need us.
